Professor Theophilus Christian Fleischer joined the University of Health and Allied Sciences in 2015 as the Pro-Vice Chancellor. He is the Foundation Dean of the School of Pharmacy and a Professor in the Department of Pharmacognosy and Herbal Medicine.
Education
Prof. Fleisher obtained his GCE/SC O-Level from Presbyterian Secondary School, Osu in 1977 and GCE/SC A-Level from Mpraeso Secondary School, Npraeso-Kwahu in 1979. He graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) in 1984 and a Master of Pharmacy in 1990. He obtained his Ph.D in 1997 from the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Professor Fleischer is a Pharmacist, a member of the International Pharmaceutical Federation, a Foundation Fellow of the Ghana College of Pharmacist (FGCPharm), a Fellow of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacist (FPCPharm) and the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (FPSGH).
Work experience
Professor Fleischer, after completing his mandatory National Service at KNUST, was appointed a Demonstrator in 1986, he later become a Teaching Assistant and was appointed a Lecturer in 1990, Senior Lecturer in 1998, Associate Professor in 2008 and Professor in 2014.
