INEMESIT OKON BEN

Dr. Inemesit Okon Ben is a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacology, School of Pharmacy, University of Health and Allied Science in Ghana. Prior to this, she was a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Madonna University, Elele Campus, River State, Nigeria. She is a biochemist and a pharmacologist.

 

Education

Dr. Inemesit Okon Ben obtained her Bachelors in Biochemistry from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. She later pursued an MPhil/PhD in Pharmacology at the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, KNUST.

Her PhD study focused on natural products pharmacology with specific interest in vivo and in vitro models of acute and chronic inflammation.

 

Work experience

Dr. Ben has served in various teaching positions. She has served as an assistant lecturer at the Institute of Distance Learning, KNUST. She subsequently assumed the position of Lecturer at Trinity Polytechnic and Madonna University.

 

Science /Research output

Currently, Dr. Ben’s area of research are biochemical pharmacology, immunology and inflammation, rheumatology and environmental chemistry. 

Her specific interests include:

  • Bioassay of natural products
  • Inflammation
  • Bioinformatics
  • Biochemical, immunological pharmacology and signaling transduction
