Martina Aduenimaa Bonsu is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Pharmaceutics, School of Pharmacy at University of Health and Allied Sciences. Prior to her appointment by the University, she was the Production Pharmacist of Archdiocesan Health Pharmacy Limited, Kumasi. She is a Pharmacist and a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana.
Education She had her Pharmacy education at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, KNUST, Kumasi. Afterwards, she pursued a Master of Philosophy in Pharmaceutics programme at the same university.
Work Experience She was a Teaching and Research Assistant at the Department of Pharmaceutics, KNUST for three years. During this period, she assisted in training undergraduate pharmacists at various levels whiles pursuing her postgraduate degree. She also worked as a Production Pharmacist at Archdiocesan Health Pharmacy Limited, Kumasi for two years. She has superintended two community pharmacies in Kumasi. She is also an Associate of Gris Consult, a non-governmental organization that raises awareness on Occupational Health and Safety for Corporate Institutions.
Science /Research Output Martina’s area of research is polymeric drug delivery systems, especially natural polymers. Her postgraduate project bothered primarily on extraction, purification and use of crude gums of plant origin as possible pharmaceutical excipients. She has also worked on the quality assessment of some selected antifungal agents on the Ghanaian market. She has two publications in peer-reviewed journals.
