The Ghana Pharmaceutical Students Association (GPSA) of UHAS School of Pharmacy (SOP) donated pharmaceutical items to the School on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.
The team was led by the president of GPSA, Mr. Bekoe Isaac Ofori who presented the items on behalf of the executives.
According to Mr. Ofori, the gesture aimed at ‘giving back to the community and SOP-UHAS cannot be left out since charity begins at home.’
The items donated include 47 Accu-Check Glucometers, 53 blisters of Folic Acid, 2 boxes of Alcohol Swabs, 24 Hepatitis B Test Kits, 69 Fastmelt, 2 gallons of disinfectants, 5 Wall Clocks and other pharmaceutical products, worth GH₵56,000.
Mr. Ofori applauded Unicom Chemist Limited, Megalife Sciences Ghana Limited and Lady Students Association of Ghana (LASPAG) for supporting them with the items. He said the outfits also supported GPSA-UHAS with items for a Drug Safety Campaign at Anloga, as part of the association’s week celebrations.
The Dean, School of Pharmacy (SOP), Professor Kwame Ohene Buabeng on behalf of the University expressed appreciation to the students for the worthy gesture. He assured the students that the items would be put to good use at the Pharmacy Practice Laboratory to support teaching and learning.
In attendance were faculty and staff of SOP and executives of GPSA and LASPAG.
