Kwadwo Amanor Mfoafo joined the staff of UHAS as assistant lecturer in the Department of Pharmaceutics, School of Pharmacy in October 2016. He qualified as a Pharmacist in 2012 having passed the GPPQE in December 2011
Education
Kwadwo Amanor Mfoafo had his first degree in Pharmacy at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He later pursued an MPhil in Pharmaceutics at the Department of Pharmaceutics (KNUST).
For his MPhil research, he investigated the use of cashew gum as direct compression excipient for controlled drug delivery using Diclofenac Sodium and Metformin Hydrochloride as drug models.
Work experience
Mr.Amanor, has a rich teaching experience as a teaching and graduate assistant in the Department of Pharmaceutics, KNUST. Prior to joining the School of Pharmacy (UHAS), was a superintendent pharmacist at Bomso clinic, Kumasi.
Science/Research output
His area of research focuses on novel drug delivery systems, especially in controlled release drug delivery using hydrophilic gums. As an early stage researcher, he has also developed interest in the Solid-State Pharmaceutics specifically in the area of Co-crystals, Salts and Polymorphs, and hopes to pursue research in that field.
