Doctor of Pharmacy

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION INTO THE DOCTOR OF PHARMACY PROGRAMME

  1. Local/Ghanaian Applicants with WASSCE/SSSCE 

Applicants must have obtained credits (at least Grade A1-C6 in WASSCE or a D in SSSCE) in the following core subjects: 

  • Mathematics

  • English 

  • Integrated Science 

  • Social Studies 

 

In addition, applicants must have obtained three (3) credits (A1-C6 in WASSCE or A-D in SSSCE) in the following elective subjects: 

  • Chemistry

  • Biology 

  • Physics 

  • Elective Mathematics 

 

Note: Chemistry and Biology are compulsory

 

 

  1. International applicants and Ghanaians with External Educational Credentials: Acceptable credentials for admission include the following:

 

  • International applicants and Ghanaians with external educational credentials 

  • Senior Secondary School Certificates (SSSCE)

  • West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)

  • International Baccalaureate (IB)

  • GCE (Cambridge) – ‘O’ and ‘A’ Levels

  • IGCSE (Cambridge) – ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels

  • American High School Grade – Grade 12 &13 examinations

  • Other external qualifications which have equivalences to the - WASSCE and the GCE (A      Levels)

 

Entry requirements for applicants with any of these credentials shall be Ghana Tertiary Education Board (GTEC) equivalences of the WASSCE grades in the subjects listed under WASSCE Applicants.

 

 

  1. Mature Applicants

Applicants must have obtained the age of 25 years at the time of submitting the application forms and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Dispensing Technology/Pharmacy Technician Course or its equivalent from a recognized institution with at least three (3) years relevant working experience.
