ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (PhD. PHARMACOGNOSY)
Entry Requirements
- Applicants must hold an MSc by research, MPhil degree or its equivalent from a recognised University in a relevant science programme (including Pharmaceutical sciences, Herbal Medicine, Pure or Applied Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life and Biomedical sciences) or any other related discipline as may be approved by the Departmental Postgraduate Committee. However, admissions would be based on assessment of individual applicant.
- An MPhil (Pharmacognosy) candidate of the Department who satisfies the conditions for conversion to PhD (Pharmacognosy) may also be admitted. Please see section 8.5 below.
- Applicants with professional postgraduate certificates (membership and fellowship) in a recognized health profession may also be considered.
- Ghanaian and international students are eligible to apply. International applicants must hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in relevant science programmes from institutions verified by GTEC.
- Applicants must pass an admission interview.
All applicants are expected to submit the following during their applications:
- Two reference statements/letters from professional and/academic referees.
- A Statement of Purpose from the applicant (not more than 500 words)
- Research proposal (not more than 700 words)
- Original transcript of the degree(s) obtained
Only candidates who meet the minimum requirements upon review of submitted relevant documents will be shortlisted and invited to undergo a selection interview by the Postgraduate Committee of the Department of Pharmacognosy and Herbal Medicine, School of Pharmacy, UHAS.
