ENTRY REQUIREMENTS (PH.D. PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY)
- Applicants must hold either MSc. with research component, M.Phil degree or its equivalent from a recognised university in a relevant science programme (including, but not limited to pure or applied chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, life and biomedical sciences) or any other related discipline as may be approved by the Departmental Postgraduate Committee (DPC).
- An MPhil (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) candidate of the Department who satisfies conditions for conversion to Ph.D (Pharmaceutical Chemistry) may also be admitted. Please see section 8.5 below.
- International students are eligible to apply. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in relevant science programmes from institutions verified by GTEC.
- Applicants with membership and/or fellowship from either West African Postgraduate or Ghana College of Pharmacists, or any other equivalent certification from a recognized health profession relevant to this programme, may also be considered.
- Applicants must pass an admission interview.
All applicants are expected to submit the following during their applications:
- Two reference statements/letters from professional and/academic referees.
- A Statement of Purpose from the applicant (not more than 500 words)
- Research proposal (not more than 700 words)
- Original transcript of the degree(s) obtained.
Only students who meet the minimum requirements upon review of submitted relevant documents will be shortlisted and invited to undergo a selection interview by the Postgraduate Committee of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, School of Pharmacy, UHAS. If it is not possible for candidate to attend in person, the interview may be conducted virtually.
