Objective 8: State-of-the-Art Technology and Risk Management

To set up a School of Pharmacy with state-of-the-art technology at its centre employing the right technology to an ever-changing technological environment.

 

Priorities

 

  1. Establish a system that would cater for state-of-the-art Technology that complements traditional Teaching and learning.

  2. Train staff to employ the Electronic Learning Management System in the conduct of interim assessments, teaching and learning.

  3. Institute a high-end technology-enhanced bench research and simulation labs 

  4. Establish a system to implement, monitor, and evaluate new technology decentralized from the University.

 

Target:

Make use of the state-of-the-art technology system within the university to establish a system that implements this system in SOP. 

 

Indicators:

  1. A functional and up-to-date technology system within the School to enhance teaching and learning.

  2. Interim Assessments are conducted using the LMS where possible.

  3. Implement relevant new technology introduced in the University within the School and monitor for effectiveness.

  4. Conduct bench research and clinical practicals in simulation labs using modern technology where applicable

  5. SOP staff perform administrative activities using modern technology

  6. All departments, committees, and staff have adequate ICT facilities (computers, printers, internet access and software), to enhance the implementation of state-of-the-art technological systems

  7. The technological system within SOP becomes fully functional.
